Who we are

Meet Edie — The Heart Behind Yesterday’s Colors™

❤️ A Life Rooted in Faith, Family, and Gentle Creativity

Hello, I’m Mary Edith “Edie” Gunter — a wife, mother, Granna, and a woman who has spent a lifetime believing in the beauty of simple things: faith, stories, and the memories that shape us.

Yesterday’s Colors™ was born after watching people I love walk through aging and memory loss.
I saw how a familiar picture, a whispered hymn, or a moment of Scripture could bring them comfort… even bring them back.

It lit a spark in me, and I knew I wanted to create books that would do the same for others — books filled with nostalgia, peace, and gentle faith.

🌼 Why I Create These Books

My heart has always leaned toward helping seniors feel seen and valued.
I’ve sat beside loved ones during the quiet moments and the hard ones.
I’ve watched the way a single memory can warm a soul or steady a trembling hand.

That is why I design books that are:

  • Easy to read

  • Large-print and senior-friendly

  • Filled with soft, nostalgic artwork

  • Rooted in scripture and hope

  • Comforting for families and caregivers

My mission is simple:
Help bring peace to the mind and love to the heart.

My Mantra

Everything in my life comes back to four words that God placed on my heart:

Peace. Love. Blessings. Miracles.

You’ll find these woven into every page, every prompt, every illustration, and every book I create.
They are the heartbeat of Yesterday’s Colors™.

🎨 A Gentle Creative Purpose

Through the years, I’ve created nostalgic coloring books, Bible reflection journals, angel hero books, memory-care prompts, and comforting devotional-style pages.

My work is meant to support:

  • Seniors

  • Caregivers

  • Families

  • Activity Directors

  • Memory-care communities

  • Anyone who needs a little peace in their day

My greatest reward is hearing that one of my books helped someone remember a story… or brought a moment of calm… or helped a caregiver feel less alone.

🌟 A Personal Note From My Heart

If your family is walking through dementia or memory challenges, I want you to know something:

You are not alone.
There is beauty in the small moments.
There is comfort in shared memories.
And there is hope woven into every page of Yesterday’s Colors™.

Thank you for letting my books be part of your journey.
May they bring you the same peace, love, blessings, and miracles that have carried me through my own life.

❤️ — Edie
